I am not to be trusted

Apparently Julia doesn't yet trust that I will help hold her Soothie in her mouth.

Winter time fun

Only a Minnesota family would think weather in the upper 20's is nice enough to head out for a walk. We bundled up, grabbed the dogs, and went for an afternoon walk on Tuesday.
The sidewalks were a bit slick so I had to walk very careful as to not fall and with the Bjorn on I couldn't see my feet. Julia just cuddled in and went to sleep. The walk was nice and once we got home she rested in her crib in the living room.

Nana Kat came over yesterday and Jules got to spend some time getting cuddled up. After Nana left Jules was wide awake so she hung out in her fun bouncy chair making some baby noises. She took time out of her busy schedule to pose with her wacky dad who was pretty excited about her shirt!

Mommy and baby

We had our first mom and baby class today. Julia was the smallest of them all and she wasn't even the youngest. When I went to pull her out of her car seat there was a chorus of "Ohh she's so tiny" from the other moms. Hey, she may be tiny but she is tall and I guarantee you that she will be taller than your baby in a year. She must have understood what they said because she woke up to eat and has been sleeping since, she should be bigger by this time tomorrow!

Babysitter love

Julia got to snuggle with Auntie Jaclyn today while Chris and I went out on a date.
She did give Jaclyn some trouble but she didn't seem to mind the screaming!
Thanks Jackie!

To curl or not to curl

Jules has "hair confusion", sometimes it wants to curl and other times it lays flat. I love how it looks after her bath
so peaceful

Julia got a great gift from Aunt Jaclyn and Uncle Joe and here she is enjoying it.

Happy Birthday, Nana

Today Nana Kate came over and Julia, Nana, and I went out to lunch at The Good Earth. I don't think Jules even knew we were there, she pretty much slept the whole time. We took a quick trip through Target and Nana pushed the cart so she could stare at Julia.

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Banking business

Julia now has her first bank account! Chris wanted to set up an account for her so we could start saving for college, what a planner. He told her that if she gets a scholarship she won't have to pay back the money we put in there, she can spend that $20 anyway she wishes.

The exciting part about the event it that her wonderful auntie Ouisie is a bank vice president so we bundled up and went out to Wayzata to get things set up. This picture makes me laugh!!
Sara getting her all set up!

Car Trips and Cuddles

Jules likes car rides but isn't a huge fan of the prep work that goes into said rides. She likes her coat and it's teddy bear ears but she prefers to look at it from a distance; she thinks it's better suited to hang on a hanger rather than wrap its self around her arms. Anytime she is in that seat and just sitting idle, she is an unhappy baby. She even prefers me lumbering down the stairs with the seat in hand over the mundane peace and quiet of resting while Chris and I get dressed to brave the cold weather
.
Can you tell she is just seconds away from a full force scream? She is trying to remain calm but there is only so much that soothie can do.

This is where she would rather be:

Clone of Chris

I have decided that Julia is just a clone of Chris.
What do you think?

The value in music

Here is a link to a great video of Chris and Julia sharing a moment over music.

If there is a password it will be julia. Enjoy.

We survived one month

Little Jules, Juicy Beans, Squirrel, Nut, or whatever you chooose to call her, has turned one whole month. We have not lost her nor has she decided to sneak into Nana Kats purse to escape.

She is still a huge fan of her soothie and if only we had known we would have bought stock in the company.
She really loves to cuddle up ( who doesn't?) and thanks to our good friend, Carrie, we have a Babybjorn for her to do just that; I imagine we will be getting a great deal of use out of that thing.
Here is a photo of the sleepy mother and the awake baby:

The plan is to get a photo of her every month so we can see just how big she is getting. You can already tell she has grown some. The photo below is Julia at just a few days old, she is working on her tan trying to get rid of her jaundice.
