With my mom staying with us Chris and I have been able to get out! *gasp*
Julia and my mom have been enjoying their own date nights while we are gone. Last week it was the play area at burger king. Yesterday they stayed home and made smoothies. Fun times. Chris and I enjoyed dinner at Spaghetti Works and a movie.

Big girl haircut
Julia used to have tons of curls. They have slowly turned to waves and had begun to look lifeless. She is not a fan of ponytails or clips so I thought a chin length bob would do her some good. We went to pigtails and crew cuts and the amazing Shelley worked wonders!
Here she is before her cut sitting at the garden center and below Is her enjoying her sucker at the salon. She got to sit in a taxi car chair while getting her style on.

Lucky likes treats
My moms dog is huge! Giving him treats often gives him the advantage over Julia. She struggles to get him to sit because he can easily snatch them from her. We decided to try giving her the height advantage by using a chair.
Garden center field trip
We wanted to show nana the cool nursery near our home so we took a field trip! We were bummed that the trains had stopped for the season but the disappointment was lessened by the the Christmas trees starting to spring up around the store! We saw the pretty koi fish and stopped to play with all the chimes.
Working together
Julia very kindly asked her daddy to help fix her swing set. It has gotten wobbly and needed some bolts tightened. She was a big helper! She even sang some songs to keep morale high. She had been singing "All star" by smashmouth. Please note her sweet mustache.

Making pretzels
We tried our hand at pretzels making ( from a kit). Julia sprayed then with water so we could sprinkle cinnamon on them.

"you're a princess!"
Nana bought so glow wands with butterflies on top. We had fun playing with them out in the cool Nebraska air. Julia tapped everyone (and everything) with them declaring, "you're a princess!" even daddy was a princess.

Chris and I went in for an ultrasound and boy, oh boy was nugget moving! Poor baby had the hiccups!
The tech got this sweet photo! We watched him open and close his little mouth. Here you can see his nose and his open mouth.

Cupcakes
Chris and I went on a tour of the hospital where the baby will be born. While we were gone Julia and nana made cupcakes. Tasty! FYI she looks sad in the photo. Shortly after I took it she said she had to go potty. Guess she was uncomfortable.
Typical trip to target
We love Target! I can spend hours digging for bargain but Julia doesn't love that as much as me. We negotiate and she looks at 2 aisles then we finish our shopping. She often asks for the "jessie aisle"

Lucky
With nana comes lucky. Lucky is huge! Thankfully our home is large enough. See all 3 are getting along well
Mn trip!
We went to mn this past weekend to help Nana move and make one last trip before the baby comes.
The photos are so very random in order. We saw a parade and had lots of fun

Waiting for daddy to come home
Julia knew her daddy would be home shortly so she asked to wait outside. We brought out stories and colored and she played hopscotch.

Once a month
I saw this great idea on another blog and am going to give it a try. I have the Instagram App on my phone, so each time I take a photo I can have it save that photo to my flikr account. At the end of each month I will create a collage of all the photos. I have a hard time getting around to digging through the thousands of photos I have on my computer and printing them so this is much less daunting. I certainly will still try to print photos off for a book but for now, I will print just one 8*10 collage and put it in either a pretty binder or scrap book.
The idea is to pick one photo from each day and use that picture, I started this about mid month so there are some days with 2 photos. September will have the correct amount.
