The Red Velvet Trauma
It was just the girls yesterday so Julia and I went for a very long walk to a park near us. We enjoyed riding on a pony and a whale and some great swim time. On our long walk back home we said we would go home and enjoy one of the red velvet cupcakes that I had picked up that morning at the grocery store.
We arrived home to find the empty container and no sign of the cupcakes and 2 very guilty dogs! After spending time get one dog to puke up the cupcakes unsure of the amount of chocolate we decided to head out to get another treat.
I took Julia to store and let her pick out what ever treat she wanted. She really wanted a “cuk cake” but once she saw the monkey cookie, she was sold.
She only ate the eyes..offering me bites of the cookie on occasion.
Black frosting covered her face, the bites out of the cookie are ones I took, we shared.
Grape Stomp
All 3 of us went to a local winery for a grape stomp festival. It was very warm for September, close to 90. We enjoyed our time but struggled to stay cool. We got some apples and made apple crisp.
Posing with an empty stomping bucket.
Getting her “John Deere” on
The following photos were taking on our tractor ride. You can see she enjoyed it and was so engrossed in viewing the grapes and apples…
She was having so much fun she put the strap to her bag around her head, wearing it like a necklace. She also shoved her face into a flier she found in her necklace.
Apple cookie, tasty!
Dancing!
“No yike it!” not a fan of the slippery grapes.
post stomp tootsies!

State Fair
Jules got to go to the Minnesota State Fair twice this year! We went once with Auntie Sara and once with Gram and Gramps, she loved it!
We indulged in some wonderful cookies, rode on the ponies, drank chocolate milk until our bellies ached and even did some bike racing!

Purely Random
Dear Family,
I love trying to keep you up-to-date on the craziness that is our home. As you all know Chris travels often leaving me little time to keep this baby current. From time to time I will be bombarding this blog with many posts to keep it someone current. I just did a few posts from this summer, they are not in any order! I hope you understand, this mama is one busy chick.

Kylee
I wanted Julia to experience playing with a younger cat as well. I wanted her to have something to bond with as she grows, a cat to play with and maybe even cuddle. Having 2 cats wasn’t an issue for us so we talked about getting one for Julia’s second birthday. Things changed and our house got sad missing Hazel so we started looking for a cat. We made several trips to several Humane Societies.
We found Kylee! They said she was 2 but I knew better, she was far too kitten like to be 2! I asked our vet and she said no way was she 2, maybe 6-12 months, not older.
We are working on getting to Julia to not pick her up. Kylee is a great cat and Julia is eager to hold her, she doesn’t hold her well and Kylee panics scratching to get free ( if you saw it you would see how appropriate it is for the cat to want free, yikes!)
We have been telling her that only Mommy and Daddy can pick up Kylee. She still tries, even after being scratched. I went out last night and bought her a large pink stuffed dog, and we named it Toby. Only Julia can pick up Toby, she can also have Toby sit on her lap if she would like Mommy and Daddy shouldn’t pick up Toby, only Julia.. We will see how that goes. We are working on creative ways to get past continuing problems instead of wasting our time barking at her.
Bear hugs!
We went to the zoo to meet up with an old friend. Julia started off not feeling very well but seemed to snap out of her funk quickly, just in time to try and hug the brown bears!
She is in there somewhere, playing in the water or running away from us
The kid fears very few things, I was a little freaked out by these goats, not her!
