$2.47 of pure fun

Unconventional? Yes. Fun? Julia thinks so! We wanted to have a fun sandbox for Julia to play in when we were all chilling on the deck. We thought about a large tote type container and I remembered we had one under our bed with useless stuff it it. Stuff that could easily be thrown in a closet. So we grabbed some sand at Menards and made a sandbox!

Baby Sam

Julia and I went to the Thrift store and she found a new baby. We decided to call him baby Sam, who said all babies are girls?


We gave baby Sam a bath and let him work on his tan on the deck

She decided to show her tender side by picking him up off the towel and flinging him on to the jagged rocks.

I told her that wasn’t very nice and she decided to retrieve him

Baby Sam still needs some clothes, did you know that Target sells doll clothes but I could only find dresses? uugh. I grabbed a premie onsie at the thrift store I will attempts to make it fit him.

More Granola Mess

Julia loves our homemade granola bars, she really loves licking the honey covered spoons and spatulas after we are all done.

 

To keep her busy while I mix and press the bars, I put some of the mix in the measuring cups for her to eat, it makes a nice baby beard.

I think we finally got all the honey our of her hair and off her cheeks.

Easter Bunny Prep

I decided to do a dry run with Julia Easter egg hunt outfit. I had thought of putting her in a dress but Chris said the forecast calls for colder temps. We took these right before her nap so she HAD to have her pacifier. I think she will be cute and warm. The flower on her shirt is a pin I made, it can easily be put on a coat if needed.

If you look to the left, you will see her Easter skirt, she will most likely wear that with the top on Easter Sunday. Poor kid, she was tired.

Wild Things

Julia likes to throw her food and plate and cup and spoon...you get the point. They all end up on the floor, even with prompting to place what she doesn't need/want on the table. I found a "Where The Wild Things Are"plate at Target in the dollar section ( double score) and we tried it at lunch
Please excuse the fact that she is eating CRAP, I am not feeling well and just grabbed her some Culvers on the way home from the clinic.

She very quietly says "Woarrr" and points at the mouth of this particular Wild Thing. I was wondering if the plate would freak her out but she loves it.

She loves it so much that she wanted the food off that particular section so she can look at it. Note that her wide eyes are assisting her in shoveling food into her mouth.

OOOOOH, Wild Things!

Don't forget your boots

 "Something just doesn't seem right here"

We went for a walk today so Julia could practice using her tricycle, I carried it most of the time and ended up running back to the house to drop it off. We came across 2 dead squirrels on our walk and said "ewwh". For the majority of the walk Julia said "ewwh" I got a voice file of it but no video, I can't get the voice file to post :(

 The Ladies. Julia is sporting her new helmet. Yes, it is big but the smallest you can find in stores is for 3 years plus. It fits her well enough.

Just to be safe, we can leave the helmet on while you walk.

Last but not least, the reason I should have grabbed her boots when returning her trike to the house:

Sidenote: she wasn't wearing her boots because I thought it would be difficult for her to pedal in them. Oh well, she had fun and I kept telling her she was going to get swamp foot.
