Someone is walking!

Julia has been toying with us lately and finally took several steps today, like most babies she is letting her fear of gravity get the best of her so she still clings to things more often than not. I am working on loading up a video of her working on walking to share later. For now I will share some photos with you.
Julia was lucky enough to have her Gram, Gramps and buddy, Nicoll visit this weekend. She also got to meet ALOT of Pelachs and got a little overwhelmed with the whole process. She is a trooper!
Visiting Blue at the Mall of America
Hanging out with Gram while crazy Gramps and Nicoll go on rides.

Babies can turn anything into a messy bunch of fun!
Ready to party!
Mama and Jules hanging out away from the crowd to chill out...
ooooh, grass shirt!

On Saturday morning Julia decided to start making a cool, new sound with a funny new face.
She makes an "o" shape with her mouth and coos along with the face. A few times she has even whistled. We went out to lunch today and the kind hostess brought over a toy for her to play with and she showed all of us that great face. I captured these photos this afternoon at home:

She thinks it's pretty funny!

Blueberries revisited

I have a video of Julia where she is being ever so dramatic about blueberries and went digging today and found an even better one!
Enjoy!

8 months!

Time sure flies when you are chasing after a busy girl who can speed crawl! We have our home set up with several "Julia Gates" and she seems to wait for one of them to be moved because the second a gate is down, she is off to try and find trouble. Usually the dogs water!

She started crawling about 2 months ago and has been going full force since! She started pulling herself up to standing position just a few days after learning to crawl. We had been having her practice that part for a long time, she really insisted on standing by our ottoman and that has paid off for her.
August is a busy month for her, she has been to the drive-in movies, will be going to the State Fair and has her very first Pelach reunion this weekend. Chris says it's more of a union no at re-union.
I will attach a few photos so everyone can see how wonderful she is :)
"Playing in my bedroom with Mama and showing off my pigtails!"
My great view when on a walk!
Finding trouble in the basket of the stroller
Confused about her new booster seat
"Goodbye old car seat, you kept me safe!"
"See my pig-tails?"

Oh the odd ways that babies can sleep
More of an action shot, showing how she works on moving around
Our new "gate" makes the dogs less anxious as they can now leave the room
when Julia is on the move
Random but a great Julia face!
Super happy about her new carseat!

The joy of Baby wigs

My good friend, Renee, and her husband came to visit last week and it was great to see them. Renee gave Julia some very soft washcloths and we noticed they were also useful as baby wigs!

Please excuse the blurry photos, poor lighting in our bathroom:
She wanted me to post these with a testimonial.

"Before 'Baby Wigs by Renee' I was self-conscious about my hair when taking baths and at the pool. I would worry that people could tell I had female-baby-pattern-baldness. I couldn't enjoy the finer things in life like splashing and playing with my duckies. I tried wearing hats, putting my hair in a pony and even Ron Popeil Spray on Hair, nothing worked."

Then I met Renee! Meeting Renee has changed my life! She gave me some samples to try and I was hooked instantly. I begged mommy to give me a bath so we could try them that night--what a huge difference! I was not worried at all and even did a little splashing!!
Thank so much, Renee!"

Major Safety Concerns

A website is hosting a competition and the winner gets a luxury stroller! The idea is to show why you really need a new stroller by showing of your current stroller. I decided to go all out and make a "Stroller" for Julia and this is what I came up with. Due to its lack of safety Chris is assisting our model, isn't she adorable and all too happy to help, she even has her feet up.
And of course we have the lovely Miss Julia and duckie!

Messy Baby Face

Carrot beard!

Banana Face
I was thinking that I might make a collage off all the messy faces of Julia. I have made it my mission to get every food covered and she is making it very easy to do so, she LOVES food.

Dry run on the cake

Julia turned 6 months today and we decided to let her do a dry run for her one year birthday and let her play with a cupcake. I say "play" because to say she actually ate it would be a stretch, she mashed it up and sucked some of it off her fingers but not much. The dogs had fun eating the mess of her highchair. I love the first photo, is as if she is saying "For true, I can have this?" There are also a few of her drinking from a lady bug cup, big girl!
Happy half birthday, my sweet baby!
