First Haircut

Thought the photo should be before so you can see how cute she is! Auntie Sara was over tonight and very kindly offered to give Julia her bath, after lots of splashing we got talking about the length of her bangs and how they get in her eyes a lot. We decided to trim them up! Chris has a wealth of fancy shears so I grabbed the case and picked the ones least likely to poke her eyes out. I even grabbed a special shears to give her "wispy" bangs :) She did so well, thanks to Aunties quick hands. I am not ready to have the rest of her hair cut, love those curls and want them to last until she is 45.

There is one photo that makes me laugh because she has such a funny expression.

Clinging to summer

Julia and I went to a garage sale today and we picked up some great stuff. The sale was at my friends mothers' home and the clothing formerly belonged to sweet Ella. We did a little fashion show:
We decided to enjoy these last few days of summer and went outside.

Painted piggies

I decided today was going to be girls day! Julia and I went to the mall, did some shopping, and has dinner. After her bath I decided to paint her toenails for the very first time. I figured the best place would be in her seat, strapped in and not able to grab her toes.
Rather than grab at her toes she decided to pull my hair
Showing off one foot done ( light color so hard to see it)
We had to do several coats and she texted daddy while we let them dry. Accidental texts but it kept her busy.

Around town

There is a new piece of art at the park across the street from us that I wanted to show to Julia so we got our fashionable clothes on, filled up on crackers, and went to the park.

Ms Julia modeling her lovely hoodie.
She wasn't nearly as excited about the art as I was, it is 4 mirrors in a circle and I think she was just confused by the quantity of babies staring at her
Little goof ball!

Baby Grand Piano

When Chris is out-of-town I get a little stir crazy not having anyone to chat with so I tend to head out of the house with Julia more often than normal. Yesterday we went to the thrift store, we had planned on visit her cousins but I was worried she was getting a cold so we steered clear of sharing germs with 3 kiddos. I have been wanting to get her some musical toys but would rather not get stuff that uses batteries (not for lack of supply) because that stuff usually makes way more noise that need be and I want her to create the sounds. I swear I am not a granola hippie. I was thrilled when I found this little bugger and that it was only $4! It was incredibly dirty so I scrubbed it up and let her at it, she likes it!!

You have heard of people "playing by ear" she can "play by mouth"

"AAAAAH, NOISE!"

Shweeeming!

I can't always explain the odd things we do at our house or the weird ways we say things, but at our house we don't go swimming we go SHWEEEMING! Saying it that way usually get a 4 toothed grin out of Julia so that must be why we do it.
I decided to have her take a dip in her pool this afternoon and she sort of patiently waited while I scrubbed the pool of the dirty that settled in it and filled it with warm water. I put her in her boosted seat and pulled it close to the window so she could watch the action ( and I her) and not create any action of her own.
Not a baby speedo rather a baby swim diaper
I love how you can see the waters reflection on her face <3

Another favorite of mine
and this is how we know the fun has come to an end.
